74 Ranch is PROUD to be a (MASCA) Hall of Fame Breeder.
We are proud to be responsible and honest Miniature American Breeders (previously Mini Aussie) of over 17 years and have many references. We have always worked to get the 'full package'... We evaluate our puppies for structure and temperament at 8 weeks.  We are a MASCA Hall of Fame Breeder/Kennel - we don't use the word 'kennel' because that's not what we are.  We only have a few females that live with us, and a few live in awesome pet and breeding co-own homes. We use the Puppy Culture method for raising our puppies as well as a few others that we have incorporated into our training/raising program! We do ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) and Scent Introduction from days 3-16. They are raised in the house until 5-6 weeks old then come in and out of the house while being in a building next to the house off and on as well. They are started on crate training at that time. They eat separate in the crate each meal. We take them on 3 car rides by 10 days old then continue to go on car rides until they leave.  We start leash/collar training at 7 weeks. They go in and out of a doggy door.  They are on many surfaces at this age: weeds, grass, rock (small and large), dirt, cement, wood deck, tile, carpet, etc.
They go on walks through the apple orchard and follow us to the mailbox.  Most litters are exposed to other animals, strangers and safe strange dogs (our ranch dogs).  They sit (mand/Puppy Culture) to get petted, picked up, eat meals, get treats, go in/outdoors or crates, etc.  We are not afraid to take any of our adults out of our program and place in pet homes if needed.
Located just 1 1/4 hr north of Cheyenne; 3 hrs north of Denver Colorado - Visitors welcome!

We breed for the Full Package: Health, Brains, Temperament, Athleticism and Beauty!

Both girls above are bred to MASCA CH Sagonige's Geordi (just under 16 1/2").  Geordi is a son of our Indy (MASCA CH RKC Sagonige's Go N Full Throttle) out of MASCA Grand Champion BIS Sagonige's Gigage Ada R-A, O-I, A-I.  His dam was MASCA #1 in 2014 and 2015. There are generations of great personalities and awesome accomplishments behind this boy.  He's a perfect gentleman, perfect amount of energy, not afraid of strangers, other dogs or animals. Normally males will whine all night, try to get out of their crate to get to the girl, not eat, etc.  NOT this boy.... He was fantastic while he was here!  He will make great babies for our companion homes!   We also would love to have a few partner home lined up for pups from these crosses -boys and girls.
Health clear on MDR1, PRA, HC, DM.   Hips: Excellent   Elbows: Normal   Eye CERF: clear

This litter will be raised in a wonderful home in Utah by a super junior handler and her family.  Guardian pups live with you and are loved by you while also helping us to better this breed in the future.   Both have great personalities.  We are excited to see what they produce for us!!! There will also be a few pups available to be picked up in Utah!!!

River will have puppies with McFinley Wigglebutt See You Space Cowboy in HD (Nova) DDB, CGC, ATT ready mid July.  We are looking for MALE partner homes for this litter - ones that will keep the male puppies intact (not neutered) for a while so we can use him in our program to better the breed!
We make it easy (we will bring the female to you or ship for AI, and we pay all expenses incurred).  It will be your pet, live with you and be loved by your family.  Ask for more information on this!!!

GUARDIAN/Partner/Co-own HOMES:
We will be looking for a few guardian homes in some 2023 litters coming up (especially males)... This is so much better for the dog and our breed - They get to be in a loving home instead of someone's KENNEL...  But what does it mean?  1) The male will be kept INTACT (not neutered) until 2 years old to see how it turns out.  If it turns out with the quality to improve the breed, we will use it for breeding.  We are flexible though if it becomes a problem we will work with you  2) You will get the BEST of the BEST puppies - the full package - personality, temperament, structure, etc.  3) You may earn as much or more than the original cost of your puppy back while it is bred.  4) Where does the puppy live?  It lives with YOU, you treat it as your pet: train, feed and love it. It is YOUR puppy, your dog.  We co-own on paper until the decision is made at 18 months if it will be bred or until the dog is spayed/neutered and the contract is fulfilled. You get compensation for breeding. If we show the dog (with your permission) we pay expenses and stay with local shows so you don't have to go without your dog for long.
Why do we do this?  We will always stay small here at the ranch so we can give alot of attention to those that live with us, but in order to better our program and the Miniature American breed we need dogs to breed to.  That is where you come in - you help us while we help you.  You become as much a part of our family and team as you like - or as little.
We can provide many references if desired!
***There is ONLY a 50% chance we will breed your male/female puppy in the future, but having the option is pawesome!***

Why we love PUPPY CULTURE (click link below) here at 74 Ranch!  Puppy Culture helps our puppies grow into better behaved and balanced puppies.  Things we do with our puppies before they leave: put them on a grooming table many times, brush them, look at their teeth, trim their nails, etc.  They are handled every day and taught to sit to get treats, sit to get petted and sit before they go in and out of crates/pens. They are exposed to at least 7 different things under foot by 7 weeks old (rocks, dirt, grass, cement, wood, carpet, linoleum, tile, weeds, etc)  They are also exposed to wobble boards, stairs, singing/dancing toys, tunnels, puppy dog walk, many different sounds and more. We work with each puppy individually every day and they go for car rides every few days, visiting neighbors and meeting their dogs and cats. They are also crate trained and started on leash training! They get at least 3 baths before leaving home and are dried with a dryer as well as trimmed and groomed.

We highly recommend you follow along with what we are doing through Puppy Culture (click below) and continue on past the time you take a puppy home!  It is very educational and advantageous for the puppy's futures!
We also highly recommend this book: Perfect Puppy in 7 Days!  We have read it several times over and ours is looking pretty worn!!! There are also other good puppy raising books at DogWise!
This is also a great program for new puppy buyers!
